Telehop supplies toll-free, calling card and cellular long-distance services

TORONTO - Telehop Communications Inc. (TSXV:HOP) says it has hired the investment banking firm Orion Securities to advise on a potential sale of the company and other strategic alternatives.

Telehop supplies toll-free, calling card and cellular long-distance services to residential and business customers.

"Our company has strong cash flows in its core operations, strong brand recognition, a significant loyal customer base and a net cash position of over $3 million," chairman Hersh Spiegelman said Tuesday in a release.

"This process is designed to try to deliver the value of the company to our shareholders."

Telehop offers its branded 10-10-620 and the 10-10-100, Dial Around Services and WorldTalk equal access long distance and alternative directory assistance programs. It also provides toll-free numbers, calling cards and the Broadtalk voice-over Internet protocol flat-rate service.

Tuesday afternoon on the TSX Venture Exchange, Telehop shares were down four cents at 76 cents.
